One day as I was stamping and cutting out some clouds, one of my clouds suddenly lay somewhat ruffled on the desk and looked just like a leaf… The idea grew and the end result after a lot of stamping, colouring, cutting out and glueing was a flower! I started to glue three leaves as a base, and then glued leaf after leaf in the spaces in between. A flower needs to have some green leaves as well, so I used Urban Swirl. The swirl and the clouds are all coloured with Promarkers och highlighted with a white pen. The flower is fastened on the little box (which I cut with my Silhouette) with a glue gun and the ribbon with a stapler.

I sure would enjoy seing what unexpected things you could create with Tingtura’s stamps !

With this post we welcome our newest member of our DesignTeam, Katrin Höglund!

Katrin has been around for a while helping us with ideas, at fairs and has been very eager to participate in our contests and other challenges. But now she´s taken it to the next level and has become a part of our wonderful DesignTeam.

Name: Katrin Höglund (Mårdby was my maiden name, like some other Tingtura people, haha)
City: Gothenburg
Profession: High school teacher in Swedish and English
When did you start to scrap: I believe scrapbooking has always been in my life. When I was little my mom did it for me, and I followed on when I was 12 years old. I started collecting scrapbooking supplies in the 90ies, but I didn’t start scrapping the way I do now untill my children were born (2004).I joined the Swedish scrapbooking world last summer and it was then that I became the dedicated, crazy scrapper I am now! :D
What colours do you prefer: RED is always right! It is amazing how that colour will go with and enhance everything!
What do you prefer to create: Layouts! Mostly about the kids…
What are your favourite top three stamps right now: Miscellaneous Urban Sky circles (they’re completely addictive!), journaling set #1 and 2 (what, was I supposed to pick only three and not three sets?? Impossible!)
What do you always use: Tingtura stamps, of course ;)
What do you never use: Old die-cuts and stickers
What do you use to colour your stamp motives: Promarkers
Tell us something amusing about yourself: I give speed birth (child number two entered the world on our living room floor). I have an unfailing sure eye. I can Never keep it short when writing and am always pry to decision agony.
What day do you blog: I help out with the Monday sketch

These are Katrins favorite layouts:

We have picked out a few stamps to put on sale this week too. It is a couple of Maja’s Friends stamps: Boy with Fishing Pole, Pier, Tree trunk, Sun rays och Small, Medium and Large Cloud. All these are much fun to use together and to build your own small scenes.

Here’s a card with all of this weeks stamps except the tree trunk. I’ve used distress ink to color with. The ocean is done with a mask, spunge and distress pad. The sky is done with distress too. The fishing boy is cut out and glued to the background together with some details.

The title for this one is “Kalas i shogen” which means “Birthday party in the Forest”. It’s my father-in-law who loves the outdoors and we always celebrate him out in the woods. So this time the fishing boy became a boy with a sausage on a stick to barbeque over the fire! This time I’ve used ProMarkers to color. Notive that his feet got shoe laces so I could color them as boots. More suitable for the outdoor. I’ve also used the small butterfly from Maja’s Friends and the Scallop Spot Rectangle Large.

All the stamps can be found on the fron page of the web shop. Price is already reduced so you don’t ned to wait for a personal confirmation before paying.

Hope you like ‘em!

We have a jar for saving small change and I was fed up with it’s plain boring appearance. Just a white box… BORING! And a while ago a Bind It All (BIA) moved into our house which I thought I’d put to proper use too!

I cut up 5 pieces of 12×12 and one 12×15 (for the lid) and dressed them all up in nice monochrome and patterned papers. Then the BIA made some holes which I used to tie it all together with organza ribbons. I didn’t want the edges of the box to stand out so much so I colored them with a black ProMarker.

Stamps used:
*Girl Hugging Heart or Ella as she is named (colored with ProMarkers highlighted with a white pen)
*Flower lines (stamped with distress ink walnut stain for a softer impression)

I really like Flower Lines since it’s so usefull though I’m mainly using it for making backgrounds at the moment.

This January I graduated and I am now a teacher :D unfortunatly I don’t have a job…yet. So I got plenty of time to read all those books I didn’t have time to read when I was studying. And of course I need a bookmark! I love the Urban stamps and they are so easy to use and make collages. I used a lot of stamps to make this bookmark.

From Urban Sky: Cloud middle Cloud small Three circles Small circle Heart Flower

From Urban Stars: Round Swirl Star Swirl Long Startexture

Here comes this weeks sketch! We hope it’ll inspire.

And this week we have some guests to inspire you! I was invited to my mother-in-law friday to saturday last week to scrap with her, my mother, some sisters-in-law and friends. We had a great time and a few challenges of course. One challenge was the sketch above so here are our interpretations of the sketch.

These are (in order) by me, Anneli, Lena, Cajsa, Margreth and Katrin.

I’ve continued enjoying the stamps from Tingtura Design - Urban, and I’m exploring new ways of using them. For this LO I’ve used mainly the colors brown, white and red. It’s fun to use the basic colors and straight lines with stamps from the Urban collection since it creates a nice contrast. I’ve added the half pearls for the same reason: contrasts nicely with the paper.

I have used the stamps dotted circle (somewhat of a personal favourite), circle large and the small flying star.

I often work with my photos in some computor program to get some effects. This time I decided to stamp on the photo instead to get the effects. I used acrylic paint istead of a stamp pad just so it would dry faster, and I also like what the acrylic does with the motiv. The edges on the motiv are stronger and frames it. I have used Urban Stars startexture. On the rest of the LO I used Urban Sky small circle and on the small chipboard dots I used Urban Stars star heart. For the journaling I used Tingtura Journaling rektangel linjerad and this happened

I’m doing a small side project that I add a few pages to now and then. It’s a chipboard album shaped as a heart where I scrap photos of me and my niece doing funny faces. It’s kinda a tradition for us two to take crazy photos now and then when we meet and we always laugh looking at the photos. In this album there will be a series of five photos taken at the same time, hence the numbering of the page.

I’ve dressed the album in ordinary bazzil paper and painted a black frame around the edges of the heart using ProMarkers. I’ve stamped and embossed Bubble Wrap as a frame around the photo. I’ve also stamped partially on the photo since I think it looks cool and adds to the frame effect nicely. The swirls are colored with ProMarkers and high lighted with a white pen.

I was so inspired last sunday when reading Kickis post. I had to try straight away! So here is me freestyling. And it was so much fun!

I let go of all restraints and “musts” I usually have and I just played around with my Urban stamps. I cut, glued, measured, stamped, cut some more and did all the things I love! I’ve used some decorations that I never use which made it even more fun. The plastic wings have been hanging at home for a loong time and the same goes for the rub-ons. It’s so much fun when you all of a sudden notice old things and you get all excited about them just like you did when you first bought them. The drops hanging under the photo is my own doodling and colored with ProMarkers.

Stamps used:
* Flower Lines
* Lightning (gorgeous even uncolored)
* Cloud Medium and Cloud Big (stamped on patterned paper and cut out)
