Can you imagine that it’s already week 1! (Hmm… do you do this in other countries? Here in Sweden we number the weeks of the year from 1 to 52 hence the numbering of the sketches in the blog)

New week and new sketch this time from Linda in our Design Team (FOTO = photo and TITEL = title).

I’ve made a card and a layout inspired by the sketch.

First the card. The text says “gott nytt år” which means “happy new year”. The letters are painted with 3D Crystal Lacquer. First I’ve stamped the Star Texture in the middle with a Watermark pad then heated with the heat gun. Then I’ve stamped with Large Circle and Circle medium with the same watermark pad but before heating I’ve added some lovely black and sparkly embossing powder. So sparkly!

Now the layout. I’ve used Dotted Circle and yellow acrylic paint. Inspired by all the dandelions in the photos. I’ve also used the Striped Scallop Spot on a piece of white paper, cut out around and inside to make a frame. So simple yet pretty nice if I may say so myself.

I hope you’ve been inspired!

Don’t forget to send in your contributions to this months challenge! Only a few days left.

For those of you that don’t know, Tingtura Design is run by husband and wife Niklas and Kristina (Kicki) Mårdby. During november we joined a stamping contest with eight teams of five stampers. Niklas was the only guy :) Teams were randomly put together and we ended up on the same team! It was great fun!

Here are what we made for the nine challenges! Can you guess which is made by who? Please leave a comment :D If you manage to guess right, there should be an award for that, shouldn’t it? :P

First challenge was to come up with a team name. We called ourselves “Red Hot Chili Stampers” and Niklas photoshoped a quick lil avatar for us.

Challenge #2

Color challenge. Each team member gets one color: red, green, yellow, blue and purple. Use your color and none of the other four..

Stamps used: Package opening monster, Ha en underbar jul (swedish text stamp), Slim cat, vill du leka med mig? (swedish text stamp)

Challenge #3

Material challenge. Each team member gets one type of material for decoration. Use it and none of the other four. Brads, buttons, flowers, bling and paper clip.

Stamps used: Tree trunk, Standing pig and lots of Urban and swirls from Journaling #2

Challenge #4

Sketch challenge.

Stamps used: Girl with gift, bubblewrap, Flower and lots of of Urban and swirls from Journaling #2 again. Who is it that likes Urban? Can you guess… :P

Challenge #5

Again divide within the team. This time it was the number of stamps to use on the card: 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 stamps.

Stamps used: 5 stamps: Wavy dots, Drop large, Large swirl, Flying star large and Flying star medium. 2 stamps: Jippi du klarade det (swedish text stamp), Princess from Majaroni)

Challenge #6

Make a classig Christmas card in red and green.

Stamps used: Boy waiting for Santa, Girl with Gift, Santas hat, Girl huggin heart, God Jul stor (swedish text stamp)

Challenge #7

This time it was shapes! Circle, square, triangle, heart and stars. Use the shape you got and not the other four.

Stamps used: Lots of hearts (beautiful texture!), småord (swedish text stamp), Söt (swedish text stamp), Heart, Flying heart Right, Flying heart up, Hipp hipp hurra (swedish text stamp), Star Texture)

Challenge #8

Make a Christmas Tree decoration!

Stamps used: Christmas Frog, god jul Litet hörne (swedish text stamp), god jul stor (swedish text stamp), Dotted circle, Star Texture)

Challenge #9

Each team member got a stile to work with for this challenge: Clean & Simple, Freestyle, Heavily decorated, Vintage and Retro.

Stamps used: Flower, Pipe with cloud, Frog with wings Large, Large Circle, Drop, Drop Large, Flower, Drop large.

Challenge #10

Make a Christmas recipe.

Stamps used: Christmas Frorg, God Jul stor (swedish text stamp), Circle Large, Santas helpers Couple, 1-3 Swirl.

Our team didn’t win the competition though we won some of the challenges. It was a lot of work since these ten challenges came quite close to each other (1-3 challenges per week), but it was a lot of fun. So, can you guess which card is made by who? :P

We hope you’ve had a wonderful Christmas and wish you a Happy New Year!

I really love this photo of our youngest son :) and on this LO I wanted the pic to be in focus, I wanted to use as few decos as possible. So instead I used more patterned paper and in different colors to enhance my photo, and as a single deco I used a small flower from Urban Sky Circles.

Merry Christmas to all!!!

It’s not many days left until Christmas :) Yesterday my boy had his last day in school for this year and of course his teacher got a Christmas gift. I altered matchboxes for everyone and they also got a scented candle. One of his teackers are male and I wanted to avoid the most cute stamps on his matchbox, and the Majaroni Santa was perfect!! Isn’t he lovely?!

It’s late tuesday night and almost only two weeks until Christmas, and I thought I would show you a christmas card in classic colours. Maybe the blue is a bit untraditional but it looks good with the red. I want you to look closer at the card, can you see that I didn’t use cardstock but a patterned paper? This is from Basic Greys newest christmas collection where the backside of the paper is patterned too. So the card is beautiful on the outside and inside ;)

Once again I used the cute Julle but he got a bit pale in the scanner ;)

Time to show the winner of the November Challenge and the Comment Lottery :)

Our Design Team got to vote and this beautiful card won :D

Big warm congrats Carina! You’ve won the gift voucher so start shopping :) Can you see the three Tingtura Design stamps she has used?

You can imagine how hard it was to decide a winner with so many contributions. We even got one from France! Here are just a few of the contributions:

And its quite fun with two so great but different cards using the same stamp! The scheming girl from Majaroni is fun to use on both cards and layouts.

Then there was the comment lottery last week just like we are doing this week :) All you who commented got one lottery ticket and the winners are Twister/ingela & Åsa Merving! Congrats!

Can you imagine that it’s already week 50?! Soon Christmas and a New Year! :D But it’s also Monday and time for a new sketch and some inspiration.

This sketch can become cards and layouts. Here is a card from Julia in our Design Team and a layout from me. Both inspired from the sketch of course.

Julia has used one of the new Majaroni Christmas stamps: Monster Opening Package. I’ve used the journaling spot “Du Är” (means “You are”) and Wavy Dots from Urban Textures.

We celebrate 2nd Advent here in Sweden and it’s time for another comment lottery. Each comment (one per person, and before next sunday) to this blog entry is one lottery ticket! You can win the lovely Filiona Angel (see below)….

It’s my turn to blog a card and I’d like to show this card that I’ve made for StampARTic’s challenge where you are supposed to make a card without any patterned paper. Simple! :) I’ve used a white paper and lots of stamping-fu. First the finished result and then the explanation.

Material: White paper. Angel from Filiona. Star spot from Tingtura Journaling #2. Lots of star stampls from Urban Stars (mainly the star texture). JulKram! from Filiona. Blue distress pad and refill (Faded Jeans). Waterproof black stamp pad. I’m sure you can find the pads at one of our retailers.

First we stamp the angel in black in the middle of the paper. Then we stamp the angel again on a post-it note. I’ve cut the postit-angel with a little margin and then put it over the angel on the card (this is whats called to mask something)

Now we stamp the journaling star on a piece of paper. I stamped twice and cut out another mask. Now it’s play time :D

The cut out journaling star mask (*phew*) is now placed on the card and we stamp away with the star texture. Remember to load the stamp full with ink from the pad and stamp several times to get that lovely faded effect. Some stars are stronger blue while some are more faded this way. Like a stary sky :)

We also load the sponge (did I forget to mention that among the materials above? oops) with ink from the pad and dab along the edge of the mask. This might take a bit practice so play around a little. Move the mask and repeat! :D

To finish the card I’ve stamped the Star once and then JulKram in blue, since I thought that it might look nice (and I thought it did turn out ok to). It doesn’t show well in the photo but I dabbed a couple of times with the text stamp around the stamped text to get the same faded feel on the text to match the stars.

Now we remove the postit-angel and color it with distress ink. I’ve just gone around the edges with blue and then drawn the color with a wet brush to get that nice faded effect (again?! he likes fading doesn’t he?!). The angel wings get some glitter and the eyes get a little 3D glaze.

Whadya think?

And this is when I have to mention that as a member of the Tingtura Club you can buy the journaling star at half price right now! ;) *hint hint*

I thought I’d show another way to fold your cards. I did this card for a challenge from StampARTic. It was a little difficult to get it the way I wanted. Im sure its much easier to have a cover instead of a window like I did.

This is what the card looks like closed:

And when you open it it looks like this:

I’ve used cardstock sized 6″x12″ (approx 15×30cm) for the card. I’ve creased at 2″, 4″, 8″ and 10″ (approx 5, 10, 20, 25cm) and then decorated with patterned paper, Tingtura stamps and other decorations.

The art stamps used are all from the Filiona collection: Holly and Elf Couple. The holly and couple are colored using MCP technique.

The clear plastic was embossed with an embossing folder in the Cuttlebug. The loveyl ribbon is from the webshop too.
